Phew, long time no post!

SO much has been going on in the land of BENT KNEE; we had a fantastic tour in August (had way too much fun!), and we’re 5 days away from releasing our CD!

I just logged on to tumblr for the first time in a while, and saw that a bunch of people had tagged us in their posts sharing our covers of Creep (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTU9x8yaNKw), and Since I’ve Been Loving You (http://soundcloud.com/bentkneemusic/since-ive-been-loving-you). Thanks so much for listening, enjoying and sharing!

Here’s a brand-new track off our album; it’s called “I Don’t Love You Anymore”. You can now purchase a copy of the album at http://www.bentknee.bandcamp.com, and we’ll ship it to you once we release it next week!

Thanks so much for your support. Keep it real, keep bending knees!

Currently at a concert on Newbury street, the program is The Rake’s Progress by Igor Stravinsky! Trying not to read ahead in the libretto… I know Tom Rakewell goes insane, but I want to be surprised by how it happens…!

In Austin

Warm weather today, verging on hot.

Thinking about what’s happening in Japan. Tried so many times to make a comment, make a statement, do something, but really couldn’t figure out what to do. Finally donated some money last night to Japan’s Red Cross through Google. Scouring the news every couple minutes, obsessively. Found more people who feel the same way; not sure what there is to be said in the wake of total obliteration. Read an article by my friend, who has a friend in the midst of the disaster. She said everyone who’s evacuated in the shelter is listening to the radio; many are too afraid of the vivid images broadcast on TV. They’re listening for the music, more so than the news.

The only thing she can listen to without being scared, is music.

“Life is gradual release from ignorance.”

We played with Jaggery on October 26th during the Bury Me Standing residency, and I just happened to come upon their video….. HOW COOL IS THIS!? Totally made my day. (Oh, besides finding out that Linkin Park is touring…) Their website is www.jaggery.org, so be sure to check them out…. :)

And before I knew it… it’s been 1 month since I’ve been on Tumblr.
Much has happened including caf-shows and exciting events… and mid terms… :/
Today we came up with a catch phrase for ourselves: “Dystopian Post-Pop”
I really like the paradox “Post-Pop” creates, but what do you think? Does it make you want to hear our music?

What an absolutely stunning day it is outside!! I’m going to take my computer and work at one if the coffee places around here soon; I don’t want to be in my room today…!!
Thursday was a fabulous birthday for me; the best I’ve ever had, in fact!! It’s my third one since I moved to the States, and I’m so happy and honored that I am amongst such compassionate and kind people :)
